The challenge
Champion Finders had a clear model: a marketplace where breeders pay a small monthly fee to list champion-bloodline puppies, and buyers browse for free. Off-the-shelf classifieds couldn't do it. It needed member accounts, subscription billing, rich listings with photos and video, search that worked across dozens of breeds, and an admin center to keep it all honest.
What we did
We designed the brand and built the entire platform from scratch in PHP on a MySQL database, no template underneath. Breeders got accounts, listing management with photo and video uploads, saved searches, and favorites; buyers got a searchable directory of breeds, puppies, breeders, and dog services. We wired in recurring subscription billing through Authorize.Net, built a custom admin center for moderation and content, and added the details that make a marketplace trustworthy: photo watermarking, spam reporting, listing-renewal notices, and weekly emails telling advertisers how many buyers had viewed their ads. We delivered it as a phased, fixed-scope build and hosted and maintained it after launch.
The outcome
Champion Finders launched in 2012 as a working marketplace with real breeders and buyers, carrying them from sign-up through paid subscription to a live listing. A custom web application that ran the business, not a brochure site, backed by ongoing hosting and care in the years that followed.
