In 1902, five businessmen founded the Minnesota Mining and Manufacturing Company in Two Harbors, on the North Shore just up from Duluth. Their first plan, mining a mineral for grinding wheels, flopped. But the company kept experimenting, and 3M went on to invent masking tape, Scotch tape, and the Post-it Note, becoming one of the most inventive companies on earth.
Their early failure didn't sink them. Their willingness to keep trying is what made them.
Most great products are version three, not version one. We build the same way: ship something solid, watch how people use it, then improve. A website is never really finished, and the ones that keep getting cared for and refined are the ones that keep earning their keep.
