Meta puts its own name on AI glasses

On June 23, 2026, Meta and EssilorLuxottica launched Meta Glasses, starting at $299 and available the same day through Meta.com, Best Buy, Amazon, and optical retailers like LensCrafters. It was the first product built to carry the Meta name on the frame rather than a Ray-Ban or Oakley badge, and it arrived in 26 styles across three silhouettes.

The glasses shipped with Meta AI from day one, offering hands-free answers, live translation across 14 new languages, photo and video capture, and an eight-hour battery. By early 2026, market trackers pegged Meta as the runaway leader in AI glasses.

Note the move: Meta came in about $80 under its pricier Ray-Ban line and multiplied the style options rather than chasing more features. When a category starts crossing from early adopters to everyday buyers, fit and price do more work than spec sheets. For any business selling something newish, offering a lower-risk entry version in more variety often opens the door wider than one premium flagship.
